Marangu is the only route that uses huts rather than tents. It is not an easy walk. We arrange the licensed operator, park fees, and a briefing in Moshi, and we are plain about summit chances and what the fee does not cover.

Itinerary
Day 1
Moshi briefing
Gear check, meet the head guide, and sleep in town.
Day 2
Marangu Gate to Mandara
A gentle forest day. Hut overnight.
Day 3
Mandara to Horombo
Moorland and the first real views of Kibo.
Day 4
Acclimatisation at Horombo
A higher walk toward Mawenzi and back to sleep low. This day matters.
Day 5
Horombo to Kibo
Alpine desert. Early night before the summit push.
Day 6
Summit and down to Horombo
Start around midnight. Uhuru Peak and a long descent.
Day 7
Horombo to the gate
Descend, collect certificates, and return to Moshi.

Important. Summit is not guaranteed. Turnaround decisions belong to the guide. You must hold travel insurance that covers trekking to 6,000 metres. We do not collect passports or medical files through this form.

The seven-day count here includes the Moshi briefing. On the mountain it follows the operatoru2019s acclimatisation plan. If you want an extra night, say so and we will quote it.
